Description:
Bulb ovoid-globose, 1.5-2.5 cm diam.; tunics greyish-brownish, subreticutate, extended; bulblets usually numerous. Stem 60-100 cm tall, up to 1/2 covered with leaf sheaths. Leaves 4-5, widely linear, 2-10 mm width. Spathe with a long beak (up to 10-13 cm). Umbel spherical, dense, many-flowered. Pedicels 3-6 times longer than the perianth and unequal in length. Tepals dark purple-violet, glossy, 3-4 mm long. Filaments longer than the petals, ciliate at the base; the outer ones triangular, simple, inner filaments with long lateral cusps.
