Description:
Bulb globose or ovate, 2-4.5 cm in diam., outer tunics papery, blackish. Stem terete, smooth, 10-30 cm tall. Leaves 1-3, linear to broadly lanceolate, shorter than the stem, 5-25 mm wide. Spathe 3 times shorter than umbel. Umbel irregularly subglobose to globose, lax, many-flowered, up to 12-15 cm in diam. Pedicels unequal, 2-6 times longer than the perianth, without bracts. Perianth campanulate; tepals dirty greenish-violet or whitish, with green or red midvein, 5-11 mm long, oblong to oblong-ovate, rarely lanceolate, obtuse; inner tepals up to 1.5 times broader than outer ones. Filaments violet, 1.5-2 times as long as the tepals, almost equal, at the base connate and shortly triangularly widened, above subulate. Anthers oblong-ovate; ca. 2 mm longg, 1.2 mm wide; yellow to reddish. Pollen yellow. Ovary short stipitate, 6-angled turbinate to pear-shaped, 3-4 mm long and in diam. Style whitish, overtopping the filaments. Capsule widely obovate, 4-5 mm in diam.
