Description:
Bulbs (1) 2 to several, attached to an oblique rhizome, elongate-conical to ovoid-conical, 0.75-1.5 cm thick, 3-5 cm long; outer tunics brown, reticulate. Stem 20-60 cm tall, covered to 1/3 with leaf sheaths. Leaves 3-5, linear, 1-3 mm wide, canaliculate, shorter than stem. Spathe short-acuminate, 1/3 to 1.2 as long as the umbel, persistent. Umbel fasciculate or fasciculate-hemispherical, usually many-flowered, mostly dense. Pedicels unequal, slightly shorter than to 2(3) times as long as perianth, usually without bracteoles. Perianth campanulate; tepals white, pale pink, pink or pink-violet, 7-14 mm long, equal or rarely the inner to l/4 longer than outer, linear-lanceolate, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, tapering, acute. Filaments 1/2 to 2/3 the length of perianth segments, to 1/3-1/2 connate and adnate to perianth, entire, the outer ones triangular-subulate, the inner ones triangular and 2-3 times as broad as the outer. Anthers yellow. Style not exserted.
