Description:
Bulb 1-2 cm in diam., ovate; tunics papery, grey. Bulblets smooth, grey-purple. Stem 15-40 cm tall, up to 1/3-1/2 covered by scabrous leaf sheaths. Leaves 2(3), 0.75-1.8 mm wide, linear, semicylindrical, fistulose, scabrous. Spathe acuminate, rostrate, 2 times as long as the umbel. Umbel hemispherical or spherical, dense. Pedicels nearly equal, with bracteoles up to 6 mm long. Perianth campanulate, tepals bluish or bluish-violet with darker midvein, 5-7 mm long, nearly acute, inner ones broader than outer ones. Filaments shorter than perianth, at 1/4 of their lenght connate with perianth and each other; outer ones narrowly triangular; inner ones widely triangular, with small lateral teeth. Style not exserted.
