Description:
Bulb solitary, globose, 1–2(3) cm in diam.; outer tunics dark grey, coriaceous, inner ones papery, whitish. Stem 15–40 cm tall, costate. Sheath coriaceous, costate. Leaves 1–3, linear-lanceolate, shorter than stem. Spathe 2 times shorter than umbel, with a short beak. Umbel semiglobose to globose, dense, many-flowered, 2–3 cm in diam. Pedicels almost equal, 2–3 times longer than perianth. Perianth star-shaped; tepals linear-lanceolate, 4–6 mm long, twisted after anthesis, pink with initially green later violet median vein. Filaments pale pink, slightly longer than tepals, triangular-subulate, in the lower part connate, inner filaments at the base 2–3 times broader than outer ones. Anthers oblong, ca. 2–2.5 mm long, violet. Ovary shortly stipitate, depressed globose-triangular, ca. 3 mm long, scabrous, greyish-green. Style conical-threadlike, 4–6 mm long; whitish to violet.
