Description:
Bulbous perennial plant. Bulb depressed-globose, 1-3.5 cm in diam.; tunics blackish. Stem terete, smooth, 15-60 cm tall, 3-4 mm in diam. Leaves 1-2 (3), lanceolate, 25-45 cm long, 2-4.5 cm wide, thick; upper side grooved, lower side finely ribbed or with sharp-edged longitudinal ribs. Spathe membranaceous, completely divided in 2-3 long acuminate, 12-15 mm long valves; buff with inconspicuous veins. Umbel semiglobose or globosa; 4-10 cm in diam. Perianth broadly campanulate to funnel-shaped; tepals lanceolate, obtuse, basally for 1/4 connate; outer tepals 12-15 mm long and 3.5-4 mm wide, inner tepals 10-13 mm long and 2.5-3.5 mm wide; pink with carmine to brownish-green midvein. Filaments triangular, 1/3-2/5 as long as the tepals; basally for 1/4 connate and for 1/2 adnate to the tepals; pink to purplish with paler base. Anthers 1.2-1.5 mm long, 0.8-1 mm wide, red. Ovary stipitate, subglobose, surface finely scabrous, 2-3 mm long and in diam. Style shortly conical, 1-1.5 mm long; whitish to pinkish. Stigma undivided; whitish. Capsule globose, encased by the dry tepals, up to 9 mm in diam.
